Designing for Useability

Since arming myself with an FDM 3D printer, I have regularly tasked myself with designing small, user-friendly objects that eliminate inconveniences in daily life. These have ranged from toiletry holders to guitar picks, and always aim to maintain a minimalist aesthetic while keeping functionality to a maximum. I have branded these designs as “Ergowerks” to reinforce the notion of ergonomic importance and a well thought out design process when engineering. Here are some of my favorite models from their initial CAD designs to the final useable result.

Use Case

These models can be printed out by anyone, and used for small quality-of-life improvements around the home. They are simple and integrate other objects into their design, like the existing charging cable or shelf structure.

Current State

As of 1/1/2024, I have a decent library of designs and occasionally make new ones when I see a potential use case.

Next Steps

I will continue to add to the library and grow the brand as my designs evolve and expand.
