How I Built my Website
When my time in college began to wind down, I wanted a way to display my
projects and experiences to potential employers and have a place to
document my engineering work - I needed to make a portfolio. I
decided against a website builder like Wix or Squarespace as I wanted to
learn something new and challenge myself. Being that my only prior
coding knowledge was in Matlab and Python, I self-taught myself HTML,
CSS, and JavaScript to design and develop this website from scratch and
customize it to my vision. I wanted it to be clean and simple, with an
emphasis on the content while still being visually engaging. To complete
this I wrote over 2300 lines of HTML and 700 lines of CSS and integrated
Javascript to make the buttons interactive. Then, I published the site
under my own domain.
Use Case
This website serves to convey my technical knowledge and experience to
potential employers, and serve as a bank of high-level information
surrounding my engineering career.
Current State
As of 2/12/2024, the website has officially been deployed and is complete.
Next Steps
I will be continuing to debug and enter information into the site.
